Cajun Spiced Pork Chops Recipe
Ingredients (Serves 4):
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- teaspoon ground cumin
- teaspoon ground black pepper
- teaspoon cayenne pepper
- teaspoon dried sage leaves, rubbed
- teaspoon garlic salt
- 1 teaspoons extra-virgin olive oil
- 4 center cut pork chops
Directions:
- In a small plate or bowl, combine the paprika, cumin, black pepper, cayenne pepper, sage, and garlic salt. Mix thoroughly.
- Generously coat each pork chop with the spice mixture, ensuring they are evenly covered on all sides.
- Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over high heat. Once hot, spray the skillet with a few pumps of non-stick, butter-flavored spray.
- Place the seasoned pork chops into the skillet, and immediately reduce the heat to medium.
- Cook the pork chops for about 8-10 minutes, flipping them halfway through, until they are no longer pink in the center. You can check by using an instant-read thermometer the internal temperature should reach 145F (63C).
- Remove from the skillet and let rest for a few minutes before serving.

This certainly had some kick. After reading some of the other reviews I used garlic powder instead of garlic salt. I also used smoked paprika, but everything else followed the recipe. I cut my pork chops into cubes, threw them in a plastic bag with the spices and shook, then sauteed with EVOO. Served over couscous for a delicious meal!

So, I chopped various cuts of pork(family pack), and coated the meat with the mixture(used 1/3 of the sage, and double cayanne, added fresh garlic to my olive oil and fried the mixture. Removed it from the skillet and fried some sweet frozen corn, pinch of sugar with red onions until lightly browned, added some chicken broth mixed with 1 tsp balsalmic vinegar and 1 tsp corn starch, let it boil, then I added the pork back to the skillet and covered for 5 minutes. let sit for 3 minutes to thicken even more. Served it over some homemade cilantro rice, topped with fresh lalepenos!!!! Yummy!!!!!!

I took examples of some other comments and made a dish that was WOW! I cut the pork steak into 1/2” cubes and mixed the seasonings into a blend and used 3/4 of the mixture on the pork cubes in a baggie. After a 15 minute dry marinade, I browned the meat in my cast iron skillet until just done. I then added a 14 oz. can of diced tomatoes (with liquid) and the rest of the seasoning blend which thickened the sauce. We served this over wide egg noodles with steamed asparagus. Absolutely out-of-this world.

Absolutely love this recipe, my favorite chop recipe I have had so far I played around with the spices ratios a bit (little less cayenne pepper, bit more cumin), replaced garlic salt with garlic powder, and then added salt, but that is just my personal preference I also used real butter instead of olive oil, and as it was frying I then basted it with the butter which made it taste even better and nice and moist I also let the chops rest for about 10 minutes

I made this using larger bone-in pork chops. The only changes I made was to add a teaspoon of Cajun spice mix (like Slap Yo Mama) and cooked for about a minute longer I also marinated them for 6 hours prior to cooking with a standard teriyaki (commercial) marinade Came out perfect! This is the 2nd time I have made it. Best pork chop recipe for low effort - big return!

holy cow! this is good! I used thick cut chops, lots of cajun seasoning, one T of butter with couple spoons of olive oil, seared on high heat both sides minute or two then covered and cooked, turning once, on med heat around 5 minutes. i turned off the heat and let them sit a few minutes. made a lovely meat juice for mashed potatoes. definitely a keeper.

The spice blend on this is awesome! I followed the review that suggested cubing the pork chops and subbing garlic powder for garlic salt. I sauteed just with olive oil and threw in some diced tomatoes and some diced red pepper. I served it over quinoa. Seriously delicious!

Really good - I went light on the red pepper and took the suggestion to cube and shake in a bag, then brown in olive oil. I will definitely do this again!

Great Recipe!!!!!! I substituted garlic salt with garlic powder and it made a great dry rub, I also grilled mine to get the nice sear marks on the porkchops. I added more paprika and cumin because I like spicy food. Overall, it made a great main dish and I will definitely use this recipe again

I would make this again.I made it a little differently. I added 1/2 tsp.chili powder. I used thick pork chops so, I browned them then finished cooking in the oven. This would make a great rib rub.

I more than doubled the amount of the rub and put it in a ziplock bag. It was pretty spicy but that is how my family like it.

I am not a great cook but I was able to get it done in 20 minutes. It tasted wonderful and I will be doing it again.

Super simple and flavorful recipe! I used all the spices but there is definitely room to play around with different ones or varying amounts. I served with white rice and beans. I would definitely make this again!

This was a perfect recipe! The seasoning quantity was the exact perfect amount to coat 4 pork chops, it had a great flavor and just the right amount of kick, and the recipe timing was perfect for juicy pork. Not to mention how quick and easy it was to prep and make! This is a keeper for sure.

Way too spicy for my taste could be eating most anything -

This is a nice spice rub that pairs well with the pork. A bit spicy but personally I like that. Not too much that it is untolerable. May make again; I usually don't like pork and this made me eat it so it must be pretty good!

Good with tweaks. Less sage, garlic powder instead of garlic salt and cook with thinly sliced sweet onion.
