I decided to use lemon juice instead of lemon slices for this recipe, as I had it readily available, and I also added a touch of chili for some extra kick. I was initially concerned that the additional flavors in this recipe might overpower the natural taste of the fish, but I was pleasantly surprised. The combination didn't mask the fishiness but instead complemented it nicely. Broiling the fish for 6 minutes resulted in a perfect outcome! I served the dish with plain rice, and the rice really absorbed the flavors of the fish beautifully, enhancing the overall dining experience.

I tried this recipe last night and it was incredibly easy to make. Lacking fresh lemon, I substituted California Lemon Peel (McCormick) in the seasoning blend and added some Zesty Lemon (Weber) for extra flavor. Prior to baking, I topped it off with more Lemon Peel. We used Mackerel steaks instead of fillets, so the cooking time was slightly extended. I flipped the steaks for an extra 5 minutes to ensure they were cooked thoroughly. The steaks turned out moist, flaky, and absolutely delicious.

Freshly caught... As if we caught them today. I just made my first batch. Absolutely delicious!! Instead of using salt & pepper, I opted for Mrs. Dash Lemon Pepper. I prefer not to add salt to my dishes. I believe adding Panko breadcrumbs on top to create a crispy texture would be a great idea. What do you all think?

I really enjoyed it. I marinated the mackerel in milk for a while, which resulted in a milder flavor.

We had a fantastic experience catching King Mackerel during a deep-sea fishing trip in Key West, Florida. After keeping plenty of fillets, we returned to our condo and tried out this recipe. The results were absolutely incredible! It felt like dining at a five-star restaurant in the comfort of our own home. Thank you very much!! - Joseph F. Lahue
