I have been cooking cabbage with butter for years! As a widow, I don't always need a whole head of cabbage. So, I slice a wedge, cover it, and put it in the microwave for 3 minutes. Then, I add the desired amount of butter and salt. I microwave it for another 1 minute and it's ready to enjoy!

Simple and absolutely delicious. I added a bit of salt. Definitely going to prepare it again. It pairs perfectly as a side with grilled salmon.

I decided to use purple cabbage for this recipe and included sliced leeks and jalapeños along with the cabbage in the pan. Following other reviewers' advice, I also added some salt. The result was absolutely delicious!

Great recipe that was incredibly easy to follow. I found that I needed to cook it for an extra 30 minutes on a medium-low heat, but the end result was perfect and I was extremely pleased. I will definitely be using this method again, as I appreciate its simplicity. I did add a touch of salt to enhance the flavors. Thank you for sharing this wonderful recipe.

By adding sliced onions and cooked noodles, you can create a simplified version of halushki.

I tried this recipe for braised cabbage that has a Southern-style twist, but I found it lacking in seasoning such as salt, garlic powder, onion powder, a hint of sugar, and white onions. Nonetheless, the cabbage turned out tender with a bit of chew to it. It pairs wonderfully with Southern-style cornbread, mac & cheese, fried pork chops, or fried chicken. The leftovers also work well in soups, and I personally enjoy adding them to my homemade veggie soup.

I can't wait to give this a try. I was so happy when the cafeteria on the military base included this in their menu as a meal option. The ladies were thrilled about it too!
