Grandma Pat's Sauerkraut Hotdish Recipe
Ingredients
This recipe was originally created to serve 4. Ingredient amounts can be adjusted for different servings, but cooking times and steps should remain the same. Keep in mind that scaling may not always be perfect.
- 1 pound ground beef
- teaspoon salt
- teaspoon ground black pepper
- teaspoon onion salt
- 1 (10.5 ounce) can condensed cream of chicken soup
- 1 cup sauerkraut, drained
- 1 cups egg noodles
- cup water
Directions
Step 1: Preheat your oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
Step 2: Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the ground beef along with salt, black pepper, and onion salt. Cook while stirring until the beef is browned and crumbly, about 5 to 7 minutes.
Step 3: In a small casserole dish, combine the cooked ground beef, condensed cream of chicken soup, and drained sauerkraut.
Step 4: Add the egg noodles and water to the mixture, stirring gently to ensure everything is evenly distributed.
Step 5: Place the casserole in the preheated oven. Bake until the noodles are tender yet still firm to the bite and the casserole is heated through, approximately 1 hour.
Cook's Note: You can also use canned sauerkraut if fresh is not available.
