Air Fryer Bang-Bang Chicken Recipe

Air Fryer Bang-Bang Chicken Recipe

Cook Time: 30 minutes

Ingredients

  • 1 cup mayonnaise
  • cup sweet chili sauce
  • 2 tablespoons Sriracha sauce
  • cup flour
  • 1 pound chicken breast tenderloins, cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 1 cups panko bread crumbs
  • 2 green onions, chopped

Directions

Step 1: In a large bowl, whisk together the mayonnaise, sweet chili sauce, and Sriracha sauce until the mixture is smooth and well-combined. Set aside cup of the sauce for later use.

Step 2: Place the flour into a large resealable plastic bag. Add the chicken pieces, seal the bag, and shake it gently to coat the chicken evenly with flour.

Step 3: Transfer the flour-coated chicken into the bowl with the sauce and stir to coat each piece well.

Step 4: Place the panko bread crumbs in a separate resealable plastic bag. Working in batches, add the coated chicken pieces into the bag with bread crumbs, seal it, and shake to coat each piece thoroughly with crumbs.

Step 5: Preheat your air fryer to 400F (200C). Arrange the coated chicken pieces in the air fryer basket, ensuring not to overcrowd the basket.

Step 6: Cook the chicken in the preheated air fryer for 10 minutes. After 10 minutes, flip the chicken pieces and cook for an additional 5 minutes, until crispy and golden brown. Repeat the process with the remaining chicken pieces.

Step 7: Once all the chicken is cooked, transfer the pieces to a large bowl and pour the reserved sauce over the top. Toss everything together gently to ensure the chicken is coated with the sauce.

Step 8: Garnish the dish with chopped green onions and serve hot. Enjoy!

I made this using party wings and it was excellent! We kept the sauce for extra dipping!

The chicken from this recipe was moist and very tender. I did not use the siracchia, only the mayo and sweet chili sauce. Next time I'll increase the sweet chili so there is equal mayo and sweet chili since it is a fav of ours. Following the directions for the air fryer, the panko burned at 400 degrees. Next time I'll lower the temperature to 360 degrees and turn the chicken halfway through the total time. Overall this recipe is a keeper! We loved it.

Cooking in air fryer at 400 for 10 minutes burned the panko breadcrumbs. Next batch I turned down to 375 and bread crumbs still burned but not as badly. Love the taste of the sauce. We made everything as written but used the reserve sauce for dipping or drizzling on individual servings. My husband love this. Will make again but will adjust the temperature lower. Did no one else have this trouble?

This was Absolutely Incredibly Delicious. I did not deviate much from this recipe but I don't have an air fryer so I fried the chicken with the same breading but I pounded the chicken breast to 1/4 inch thick, much easier than I imagined, cut into manageable pieces and fried in 1/4 inch of peanut oil. They coating was so light and crispy. I did not use the Sriracha sauce because my sweet chili sauce was plenty spicy. It was so delicious. Best thing I have cooked in a long time. The sauce is to die for. I could not believe how good it was.

My husband (married 48 yrs) is finally learning to cook, and with little extra guidance was able to pull this off well. Amounts were perfect cooked just 2-3 minutes faster and we both totally enjoyed it and had a little bit of sauce to dip at the end after cooking it a bit. (It should be noted that you can't be coating raw chicken and then using leftover sauce unless the sauce is then cooked, or reserved out before coating the raw chicken. That could be a recipe for food poisoning).

Took a lot longer to cook, BUT I had several tenders, cut up into bite sized pieces, and I always overcook my meat, (on purpose). I have a 12 qt air fryer, so all three shelves were being used...top shelf cooks first, so I had to flip the pieces and rotate the shelves. LOVED it though! Made extra sauce to mix in with my rice too. My kiddos loved it also, 13 yr old daughter said to make it again! Awesome ty!

The family, two teen boys and husband loved it, ate all of it for dinner. Like another person said, my batch also started to burn, so decreased to 375F and about 13 minutes insteadz

Easy delicious meal. Followed advise and set temperature at 360. Didn’t burn. Tender inside. Will definitely put this on my rotation.

This is a quick and easy week night dinner. I made chicken and substituted Korean bbq sauce for the sweet chili sauce - yum! I made shrimp and it was delish. I will keep this in the rotation.

Used chulola instead of the sriracha and Calabrian chiles. Yum

This has become a staple recipe in our house. My 12 year old is slowly learning how to cook and this is his favorite meal to make. Only things we do different is double the sauce because my boys like to dip their chicken in it. And I add seasoning to the bread crumbs before breading. I do cut back on the cooking time just a little but this recipe is fantastic !

This is a fabulous recipe. My airfryer cooks them a bit faster than time called for, so check on them a little early.

Sauce was great but the Panko bread crumbs burnt to a crisp at 400 degrees. Second batch was at 390 degrees. About the same.

This is supremely simple and outstanding! Probably not authentic, but I did add steamed rice to the bed of lettuce as well as chopped peanuts. All quite complimentary, but not necessary as recipe is simply perfect.

Made this as written but with gluten-free flour and bread crumbs. So good! No leftovers!
