This dish has been a favorite in our household since my kids were young. Even now, they continue to prepare it for their own families! We have our own twist to the recipe - I prefer using cream of chicken soup. I mix the soup with seasoned ground beef, layer it on the bottom of a baking dish, add French Cut green beans, a generous amount of shredded cheddar cheese, and neatly line up the tater tots on top. The first time my daughter-in-law made it for my son, he was surprised by the untraditional presentation. He jokingly remarked, "Mom always lines them up…" It was a funny moment that showcases our love for tater tot casserole!

I made some adjustments to this recipe and it turned out amazing! I added fresh green beans that I blanched, and layered them over the meat and soup mixture in a 9x13 pan. To help the soup mix in better, I added about half a cup of milk. I slightly thawed the tater tots by microwaving them for 1 minute before placing them in a single layer on top. After baking for 30 minutes, I sprinkled shredded cheddar and fried onions on top and baked for another 15 minutes. The end result was absolutely delicious!

This recipe was fantastic! After reading through various reviews, I made a few adjustments and it turned out to be the most delicious tater tot casserole I've ever had. I decided to use 2 pounds of ground beef and swapped cream of chicken for cream of celery. Instead of sautéing the onions with the meat, I mixed them directly into the soup. I also added 1 cup of sour cream to the soup mixture for extra creaminess. I simmered the soup mixture in a saucepan while browning the beef, not sure if it made a significant difference. To the beef, I added 1 tablespoon of minced garlic along with salt and pepper. To prevent the beef from burning, I combined it with the soup mixture. I sprayed my aluminum pan and poured the beef/soup mixture into it, topping it with tater tots for a crispy finish. I saved the french-fried onions for the last 30 minutes of cooking, resulting in a total cooking time of 50 minutes. The end result was absolutely delicious!

This dish was incredibly simple to make and absolutely delicious! I had only 1lb of ground beef on hand, so that's what I used. I also threw in around a pound of frozen green beans and just a handful of French fried onions that I had left. My family devoured it. Everyone adored the dish and is already looking forward to me making it again.

Review rewritten: I enjoyed it. For my next attempt, I'm considering adding a can of drained green beans to the soup and tater tots to enhance the flavor.
