White Chocolate Peppermint Bark Recipe

White Chocolate Peppermint Bark Recipe

Cook Time: 10 minutes

Ingredients:

  • 2 (11 ounce) packages white chocolate chips (such as Ghirardelli)
  • 12 peppermint candy canes, broken into pieces
  • 1 drop peppermint oil, or as needed

Directions:

  1. Line an 11x17-inch baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a microwave-safe glass bowl, melt the white chocolate chips on 50 percent power for 3 minutes. Stir well, and if the bowl is no longer warm, proceed to the next step. If necessary, continue microwaving in additional 1-minute intervals, stirring each time, until the chocolate is completely smooth.
  3. Once melted, stir in the broken peppermint candy canes and one drop of peppermint oil. Mix until everything is well incorporated. Taste the mixture, and if you'd like a stronger peppermint flavor, add another drop of peppermint oil.
  4. Pour the melted chocolate mixture onto the prepared baking sheet, spreading it evenly with a spatula.
  5. Refrigerate for at least 30 minutes or up to overnight, until the bark is completely set and firm.
  6. Once set, break the bark into pieces and store in an airtight .

From the Editor:

Peppermint oil is available at cake supply stores and is much stronger than peppermint extract. If you prefer, you can substitute 1/4 teaspoon of peppermint extract, but keep in mind it will be less intense in flavor.
