Dark Beer Syrup Recipe

Dark Beer Syrup Recipe

Cook Time: 30 minutes

Ingredients

This recipe was developed at its original yield. Ingredient amounts are automatically adjusted, but cooking times and steps remain unchanged. Note that not all recipes scale perfectly. Original recipe (1X) yields 4 servings:

  • 1 (12 fluid ounce) can or bottle dark beer (such as Goose Island Oktoberfest)
  • 1 cups white sugar

Directions

Step 1: In a saucepan, combine the dark beer and white sugar. Place the pan over medium heat and bring to a gentle simmer.

Step 2: Allow the mixture to cook, skimming off any foam that forms on the top. Continue simmering until it reduces to a light syrup consistency, which should take about 30 to 45 minutes.

Step 3: Be careful not to stir the mixture too much, as this can cause it to turn into beer-flavored rock candy. Keep the heat steady for the best results.

Recipe Tip

Try not to stir the mixture too much, or you may end up with beer-flavored rock candy.
