Baked Banana Chips Recipe
Banana Chips Recipe
Ingredients
- 2 just-ripe bananas, sliced into 1/10-inch thick rounds, or more as needed
- 1 teaspoon lemon juice, or to taste
Directions
Step 1: Preheat your oven to 225F (110C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper to prevent the bananas from sticking.
Step 2: Lay out the banana slices in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet, ensuring they do not touch each other.
Step 3: Brush each banana slice lightly with lemon juice for flavor and to prevent browning.
Step 4: Place the baking sheet in the preheated oven and bake for 90 minutes. Check the banana slices every 30 minutes, lifting them from the parchment paper once or twice to ensure they are drying evenly.
Step 5: Continue baking for an additional 30 to 90 minutes, depending on how crispy you want the banana chips. The longer you bake, the crispier they will become.
Step 6: Once done, remove the banana slices from the oven and allow them to cool for at least 5 minutes. The chips will continue to crisp up as they cool.
Recipe Tips:
- If your bananas are too ripe, they may be difficult to slice. For easier slicing, aim for bananas that are just ripe. If using metric units, slice into 1/4-centimeter rounds.
- If the banana chips dont get crispy after 5 minutes of cooling, pop them back into the oven for another 15 minutes for extra crispiness.

Not at ALL like the picture. A food dehydrator may have worked. Mine were black, stuck and not even the texture of gummy worms. Lemon did not make bananas not turn brown.

Banana chips can be heated or seared. Anyway heating may take somewhat more time than browning. Conjointly southern style banana chips taste magnificent. https://www.letsdiskuss.com/how-can-we-make-banana-chips-at-home

The bananas stuck to the parchment paper really bad, and did not come out a golden color like the picture shown. Taste is not great either.
