This recipe has way too much onion for two avocados! Adding more than just a squeeze of lime makes it too tart. I typically just mash the avocado with a potato masher and add a bit of salt, chopped tomato, cilantro, garlic, and a small amount of onion with a light squeeze of lime. That's how they made it at the Mexican restaurant where I used to work. The avocado flavor should not be overshadowed by the onion.

Wonderful guacamole recipe! Making guacamole is a simple process, and although it's straightforward, the taste can vary depending on personal preferences. For the recipe calling for one small diced onion, I opt for only 2 tablespoons of finely chopped red onion for two avocados. I remove the seeds from a Roma tomato and include 1/4 teaspoon of cumin and 2 cloves of minced garlic from a jar, in addition to the other ingredients. It's always a delight to enjoy with warm tortilla chips!

Great recipe, Denise! I adore Guacamole, and this is a fantastic starting point. I personally like to enhance mine with a bit of Pace Picante and finely mince the onions instead of chopping them. The addition of lime is essential! When I'm pressed for time, I sometimes opt for onion flakes or powder instead. I've heard some people claim that "authentic" guacamole includes sour cream or cream cheese, although I don't know about that. I might experiment with them next time just out of curiosity. A quick tip: keeping the avocado pit in the guacamole can help prevent it from browning too quickly.

Great recipe! I made some slight modifications to suit our taste preferences. I added a diced jalapeno pepper for some extra spice, along with onion powder, garlic powder, crushed red pepper flakes, and increased the garlic to 4 cloves. I also opted to dice the onion for a chunkier texture in the guacamole. The result is always absolutely delicious! This recipe has become a regular favorite in our household, often requested by family and friends. It pairs well with tacos, burritos, chicken breasts, hamburgers, or as a simple dipping option for snacking.

Hello! We are students from South Korea writing this review as part of our English class assignment. We found this recipe to be incredibly simple and will definitely be making it again in the future. Instead of including onion and garlic, we opted to add a couple of tablespoons of salsa and extra tomatoes. We respectfully disagree with the suggestions of others to incorporate white vinegar and sour cream, as we personally do not enjoy the sour taste they bring. We believe that a bit more salt and pepper would enhance the flavors. This dish was quite a unique experience for us, as tropical fruits like avocado are not common in Korea. Initially, the taste was unfamiliar, but when paired with chips, it was surprisingly enjoyable. We suggest enjoying this dish with a cold beer for the complete experience. We hope that our feedback proves useful to you. Thank you for taking the time to read our review.

Great recipe, but I suggest using only half of the onion amount suggested as it can be overpowering. I recommend using half a lime instead of a whole one, especially when using only two avocados. Adding a pinch of cayenne pepper gives it a nice kick. To prevent browning, press plastic wrap onto the guacamole before sealing the container. While some prefer adding extra lime juice on top, I find that the plastic wrap trick works better to keep it fresh by minimizing exposure to oxygen until serving time.
