Ranch Mix Saltine Crackers Recipe

Ranch Seasoned Crackers

Ingredients

  • 1 cups vegetable oil
  • 1 (1 ounce) package ranch dressing mix
  • 1 (16 ounce) package saltine crackers

Directions

Step 1: In a 2-gallon resealable plastic bag, combine the vegetable oil and ranch dressing mix. Seal the bag and shake vigorously until well combined.

Step 2: Add the saltine crackers into the bag, then seal again. Shake gently until all the crackers are evenly coated with the ranch mixture.

Step 3: Let the crackers sit in the bag for about 3 hours to absorb the seasoning. Be sure to shake the bag every 30 minutes to ensure even coating.

Step 4: After the crackers have absorbed the flavor, they are ready to enjoy! Serve as a snack or with your favorite dip.

These were good but as stated by another reviewer you can't really go wrong with something like this. I didn't find them to be oily but with that being said the last time I made them I used another recipe that packed a bit more flavor. However, the other recipe I use calls for a ton of crushed red pepper which the kiddos don't enjoy so I guess what I'm saying is this a fantastic starter recipe. If you like more garlic add it, onion throw it in, into more dill have at it! I give this one 5 stars based on the fact that its simple and doesn't "twist" your arm to add things that do not suit your family for the sake of staying true to the recipe. Great snack, dirt cheap, and easily tailored! Thanks for the tasty submission =)

These are fantastic! I used the listed amounts of oil, ranch dressing mix, and I added 1/2 teaspoon each of garlic powder, onion powder, and cayenne powder. Then a mixed them in a huge bowl multiple times over 30-45 minutes. Then I put them on 2 large cookie sheets covered in foil and baked them at 250 degrees for 15 minutes. Soooo good and not oily!

Family Favorite! Used a box of oyster crackers or mini saltine crackers - allows you to cut the oil in half and 2-Tbsp of Ranch dip/dressing mix. All this can fit into a gallon resealable bag and lay flat on the counter. Flip it over every time you walk past it to let crackers absorb. Baked in the oven at 250 for 20 minutes takes the oily-ness out...just watch and don't let it burn! Makes crackers crispy and extra toasty!

My family loves these crackers. I have been making them for years. We usually eat them with with homemade chicken salad IF there are any crackers actually left. I agree with another reviewer. The measurement for the oil is too much. I use approx 1/2 - 2/3 cup of canola oil. (You stop actually measuring when you make them so often) I will add my crackers to a large Tupperware bowl and then pour the mixture over the crackers. I cover the bowl and then turn the bowl upside down and kind of swirl the bowl in a circular motion once or twice so the crackers do not break. I also recommend flipping the bowl over once every 30 minutes or so. This helps the mixture evenly coat the crackers.

I started with the base recipe. I added a little red pepper, Italian seasoning, black pepper, Parmesan, truffle powder, and the little bit more ranch powder. I replaced the vegetable oil with olive oil, and I used a mixture of crackers. Cheez-Its , saltines some extra hors d’oeuvres crackers I had around. I used the crackers that were tending to get more towards stale to see if the oil would mix better. I also placed in a container and just flipped the container back-and-forth and upside down every 30 minutes or so. Yummy !!!

This is very similar to a recipe and friend gave me. I use a whole box if saltines, 1 pack of ranch dressing powder, 3/4 cup of oil and 2 tbs of hot pepper flakes. Pour everything in a big plastic bag and shake for several minutes until the crackers are coated completely. Everyone loves these. They will disappear very quickly and everyone will ask for the recipe. If you have leftovers just save them in a plastic bag and they stay crispy for a long time.

4 sleeves saltines, I used 1 cup grapeseed oil, 1.5 ounces ranch dressing mix, 1/2 tsp cayenne powder. Mixed up per recipe in a 2 gallon bag. I think next time I will use a giant lidded bowl. It was very good and I taste tested them a lot to confirm it.

I made these yesterday. My recipe is 1 1/4 cup canola, 1 packet ranch dressing, 3 tbls red pepper flakes and 4 sleeves of crackers. Mix in a huge bowl for 10-15 minutes. Then bake at 250 for 15 minutes. Store in right sealed container. ??

Used 3 sleeves of saltines for every half a cup of oil. I also baked 6 sleeves of saltines with 1 cup of oil and 1 package of ranch. Split the ingredients in half to prepare. 400° for 15 mins to 20 mins. I noticed that the top crackers are darker than the bottom SO IF YOU FORGET 😅 the bottom are lighter unless you move them around.

I love these, but wondered if anyone has ever used Parmesan cheese in the oil mixture? I may give it a try!

These have been popular with everyone I have served. Very easy to make and the flavor is excellent. I often serve these as snacks but also like to use them with various soups. I keep the ingredients on hand for last-minute preparation, when necessary.

I've made this a number of times and it's also good if you add in pretzels and cheez-it crackers! It's addictive!

These were a little greasy for my liking, but I do enjoy the flavor! i'll decrease the oil if I make them again.
