Substituted arrowroot for cornstarch in the recipe, using the same amount, resulted in the perfect consistency. I marinated chicken, cut into 2-inch pieces, in half of the seasoning with a quarter cup of oil and the juice of one lime for about an hour. Cooked peppers and onions separately, then cooked the chicken. Once the chicken was cooked through, I added the peppers back in. I sprinkled the remaining seasoning over the skillet ingredients with 1-2 tablespoons of water and heated it until hot and ready to serve. I added a sprinkle of sea salt. I served the dish with Spanish rice, warmed tortillas, shredded lettuce, sour cream, guacamole, salsa, and quartered limes. Absolutely delicious!

I turned to this seasoning tonight when I realized I had run out of my usual fajita seasoning packet. I'm so glad I did! I followed the recipe instructions closely, just substituting fresh crushed garlic for the garlic powder since I was out. After cooking the chicken strips in oil for 5 minutes on medium-high heat, I added the seasoning, garlic, water, lime juice, sliced onions, and bell pepper. The kids actually preferred the taste of these fajitas over our usual recipe. This one is definitely a keeper!
