Original recipe (1X) yields 3 servings
- 1 tablespoon butter
- 3 large shallots, sliced thinly
- 4 cloves garlic, chopped
- 1 cups white wine
- Ground white pepper, to taste
- cup heavy cream at room temperature
- 1 lemon, juiced
- Salt, to taste
Directions
Follow these steps to make a delicious, creamy sauce:
- Step 1: Gather all the ingredients and prepare them as specified in the list above.
- Step 2: Melt the butter in a medium saucepan over low heat.
- Step 3: Add the sliced shallots to the saucepan and cook, stirring occasionally, until they become translucent and tender (about 2 to 3 minutes).
- Step 4: Stir in the chopped garlic and cook for an additional minute, until it becomes tender and aromatic.
- Step 5: Pour in 1 cup of white wine and increase the heat to high. Bring the mixture to a boil.
- Step 6: Once boiling, add the remaining cup of white wine. Let it boil for 10 minutes, allowing the flavors to concentrate.
- Step 7: Reduce the heat to medium-low, and season the sauce with ground white pepper to taste.
- Step 8: When the sauce is no longer boiling, slowly stir in the heavy cream, lemon juice, and salt.
- Step 9: Let the sauce simmer for another 3 to 5 minutes, until it thickens to your desired consistency.
- Step 10: Once thickened, remove from heat and serve over your favorite dish.
