Matcha Frappé Recipe
Matcha Green Tea Frapp Recipe
Ingredients
- 1 cup milk
- 5 ice cubes (or as needed)
- 1 tablespoon vanilla-flavored syrup (e.g., Torani)
- 1 teaspoon matcha green tea powder (or more to taste)
- 1 tablespoon whipped cream (or to taste)
Directions
- In a blender, combine the milk, ice cubes, vanilla syrup, and matcha powder.
- Blend until the desired consistency is achieved, adjusting the thickness by adding more or less ice as preferred.
- Pour the frapp into a glass and top with whipped cream.
Recipe Tips
- You can substitute almond milk, rice milk, or soy milk for the regular milk if preferred.
- Do not substitute green tea bag contents for matcha powder; the taste and texture are significantly different.
- Adjust the amount of ice to control the frapp's thickness. Similarly, you can tweak the amounts of matcha and vanilla syrup to suit your taste.

I added 7 ice cubes and 1/2 tsp of xanthan gum to my drink. I also included 4 pumps of Torani sugar-free vanilla syrup, 1/2 tsp of ceremonial-grade matcha, and a mix of almond milk and 2% milk in my Vitamix. The result was fantastic! It's a much lower-calorie option compared to Starbucks. I usually don't leave reviews, but I wanted to let others know that this is a wonderful alternative to paying $7 for a drink. :)

It could use a bit more matcha flavor, so I added 1 tablespoon. I swapped the whipped cream for heavy whipping cream, boosting its ketogenic properties. Simply delicious!

My daughter and I followed the recipe exactly as written, but found the end result to be bland and too thin. To improve the flavor and texture, we added a couple of handfuls of ice, a total of 4 teaspoons of matcha powder, and an extra teaspoon of vanilla syrup. And voila, perfection achieved!🍵👌🏼✨

I made this recipe with almond milk and sprinkled in a packet of truvia for a touch of sweetness. As I had it for breakfast, I also mixed in some protein powder. It's a fantastic recipe that can be customized to suit individual preferences.

I added extra green tea and substituted vanilla syrup with vanilla extract and a dash of monkfruit. Poured it over ice in a glass. Absolutely delicious!

I tried making this recipe for myself and some friends, and it turned out delicious! I used transparent cups with lids, and the result looked beautiful and very tempting.

I initially added 2 cups of ice cubes, but found that the consistency was still not thick enough, so I added an additional cup. Despite using 1 1/2 tsp of matcha powder, the flavor was quite bland. With a few tweaks, this recipe has the potential to be really good.
