Excellent choice for any BBQ or tailgate. Despite Marlowe's Mum's feedback about it being a bit bland, I found a simple solution to elevate the flavor. I added a teaspoon of smoked paprika, some garlic-fried onions, chopped chillies, and diced chorizo, and it transformed the dish into something extraordinary. It also makes for a delicious breakfast or brunch side dish! No need to spend hours cooking this - if you don't have a slow cooker, a heavy-bottomed pan works just as well. Simply sauté the onions, chorizo, and bacon until golden, then add the rest of the ingredients. Cover with a lid and let it simmer for an hour until the beans break down and thicken the sauce. This flavorful concoction also makes a fantastic topping for hot dogs!

I prepared this dish following a recipe that reminded us of a beloved Coke chicken recipe. However, the result was quite soupy, even after draining the beans and using only 9 oz of soda. Next time, I plan to add some ketchup or BBQ sauce along with Worcestershire sauce to enhance the flavor and reduce the sweetness. Interestingly, the beans tasted significantly better on the second day. I will certainly make this again, possibly prepping the ingredients a day in advance before baking.

Being 90 years old, I've come up with countless variations of chili off the top of my head. This time, I just used some coke and I see no reason to change it. I throw in ketchup, onions, mustard, Worcestershire sauce, and whatever canned beans I have on hand. It's not rocket science.

You can achieve the same outcome by purchasing any quality canned baked beans and simply mixing in your own homemade cola BBQ sauce. Following the recommended cooking time would only result in a soupy dish with mushy beans.

I have been making these baked beans for years and we absolutely love them. I have also halved the recipe with great results.

In terms of flavor, the dish lives up to the praised reviews. However, I would describe it as "imitation baked beans." Making the authentic version isn't significantly more difficult, and it definitely doesn't involve adding a full cup of sugar!

I followed the instructions using high-quality ingredients and partially cooked the bacon in advance. Since I was short on time, I opted for the oven method instead of the slow cooker (I also used authentic Coca-Cola). Unfortunately, these were the most disappointing beans I have ever tasted... my apologies! Despite being soaked in the sauce, they ended up dry and the excessive sweetness left my teeth aching. Four out of five people at the table shared the same sentiment...

How simple can it get? I followed the instructions and cooked it in a crockpot, adding 3 different types of beans for some variety. This dish is perfect for potlucks. Only 4 ingredients needed - can it get any easier than that?

Don't anticipate hearty baked beans. I let them sit overnight and eagerly went downstairs to check on them. To my disappointment, I found watery, mushy beans that lacked the flavor I was expecting.
