Barbecue Chicken Grilled Pizza Recipe

Grilled Chicken BBQ Pizza

Original Recipe Yield: 6 servings

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup chopped cooked chicken
  • cup barbecue sauce, divided
  • 1 (13.8 ounce) package refrigerated pizza dough
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil, or as needed
  • 1 cup shredded Colby-Monterey Jack cheese
  • 1 cup diced tomatoes, or to taste

Directions:

  1. Preheat an outdoor grill to medium heat and lightly oil the grill grate.
  2. In a medium bowl, combine the chopped chicken with 2 tablespoons of barbecue sauce until evenly coated.
  3. Roll out the pizza dough on a flat surface and cut it in half to create 2 rectangles.
  4. Brush the tops of the dough rectangles with olive oil.
  5. Place the dough, oil-side down, on the preheated grill and cook until the bottom is browned and the top starts to bubble, about 5 minutes.
  6. Brush the top of the dough with more olive oil, then flip it over.
  7. Spread the remaining barbecue sauce over the grilled crusts. Top with the coated chicken, shredded cheese, and diced tomatoes.
  8. Cover the grill and cook for another 2 to 3 minutes until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  9. Remove from the grill and let cool for 2 to 3 minutes before slicing and serving.
