Ingredients

  • 1 (2-pound) package frozen hash brown potatoes, thawed
  • cup melted butter
  • 1 (10.75 ounce) can condensed cream of chicken soup
  • 12 ounces shredded American cheese
  • 1 (8 ounce) sour cream
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • onion, chopped
  • 2 cups crushed cornflakes cereal

Directions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350F (175C) and lightly grease a 9x13 inch baking dish.
  2. Spread the thawed hash browns evenly at the bottom of the prepared baking dish.
  3. In a separate bowl, mix together the melted butter, condensed cream of chicken soup, shredded American cheese, sour cream, salt, and chopped onion. Stir until well combined.
  4. Pour the mixture evenly over the hash browns in the baking dish.
  5. Top the dish with the crushed cornflakes, ensuring they cover the entire surface.
  6. Drizzle the remaining cup of melted butter over the cornflakes layer.
  7. Place the baking dish in the preheated oven and bake, uncovered, for 45 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the dish is bubbling.
