Cajun-Style Blackened Snapper Recipe

Cook Time: 10 minutes

Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons paprika
  • 1 tablespoon salt
  • 2 teaspoons onion powder
  • 2 teaspoons garlic powder
  • 2 teaspoons cayenne pepper
  • 1 teaspoons ground white pepper
  • 1 teaspoons ground black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 4 (6 ounce) fillets red snapper
  • 1 cups butter, melted

Directions

Step 1: In a small bowl, combine paprika, salt, onion powder, garlic powder, cayenne pepper, white pepper, black pepper, thyme, and oregano. Mix well to create your seasoning blend.

Step 2: Heat a large cast-iron skillet over high heat until it becomes extremely hot, about 10 minutes.

Step 3: Dip each fish fillet into the melted butter, ensuring each piece is well-coated. Then, sprinkle the seasoning mixture generously over each fillet.

Step 4: Place the fillets in the hot skillet. Pour 1 tablespoon of melted butter over each fillet. Allow the fish to cook until the underside becomes blackened, about 3 to 5 minutes.

Step 5: Flip the fillets over and pour another tablespoon of butter over each. Cook for an additional 2 minutes, or until the fish flakes easily with a fork.
