Flat Iron Steak with Balsamic Reduction Recipe
Cook Time: 30 minutes
Servings: 6
Original Recipe Yield: 1X
Ingredients
- 3 pounds flat iron steak
- 3 tablespoons extra-virgin olive oil
- 2 tablespoons coarsely ground mixed peppercorns
- 1 teaspoons salt
- 1 tablespoon unsalted butter
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- 1 cup balsamic vinegar
- cup chopped fresh parsley
Directions
- Brush the flat iron steak with olive oil, then press it into the coarsely ground peppercorns. Season with salt and set aside.
- In a large skillet, melt the butter over medium-high heat. Once hot, add the steak and cook to your desired level of doneness, approximately 4 minutes per side for medium-rare.
- After cooking, transfer the steak to a plate and cover it to keep warm.
- In the same skillet, add the minced garlic and cook over medium heat until it starts to brown around the edges, about 1 minute.
- Pour the balsamic vinegar into the skillet and increase the heat to medium-high. Let the vinegar reduce by half, stirring occasionally.
- Once the vinegar has reduced, remove from heat and set aside.
- Thinly slice the steak against the grain and arrange it on a serving platter.
- Drizzle the reduced balsamic vinegar over the steak and sprinkle with chopped parsley to serve.
