Baked BBQ Chicken Tenders Recipe

Baked BBQ Chicken Tenders Recipe

Cook Time: 30 minutes

Ingredients

  • 1/3 cup barbeque sauce (such as Sweet Baby Ray's Hickory & Brown Sugar)
  • 1 tablespoons Asian-flavored barbeque seasoning (such as Savory Spice Asian Delight BBQ Rub)
  • 1 tablespoon caramel sauce
  • 1 pound chicken tenders
  • Cooking spray

Directions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375F (190C). Spray an 8x8-inch casserole dish with cooking spray.
  2. In a shallow dish, combine the barbeque sauce, barbeque seasoning, and caramel sauce until well mixed.
  3. Reserve 2 tablespoons of the sauce mixture for basting.
  4. Dip each chicken tender into the sauce mixture, ensuring they are thoroughly coated. Place them in the prepared casserole dish.
  5. Bake the chicken in the preheated oven for about 25 minutes, or until the chicken is no longer pink in the center and the juices run clear. An instant-read thermometer should register at least 165F (74C) when inserted into the center of the chicken.
  6. Baste the chicken with the reserved sauce and continue baking for an additional 5 minutes.

I have become obsessed with chicken tenders so tried this recipe. First time I made it, the suggested Asian spice rub was not available at my grocery store so I substituted a Vietnamese dry rub they carried. It was just ok. But I took a chance and ordered the suggested spice online and wow did it make a difference! Loved the recipe second time around. I double the sauce because I buy a larger package of tenders. Very tasty, easy to do, moist chicken---what's not to like!

Yum. Super simple and tastes great. Had some of these in a salad sandwich for lunch today and enjoyed the flavour. Will make again.

Very easy and Tasty. I used a southern BBQ Seasoning and Sweet Baby Rays added 1/2 cup and some thinly sliced onions. Bake as directed and served on top some mashed potatoes . Thank you for Sharing.

I felt that these chicken tenders were too sweet, making me wish I had skipped the caramel sauce. My kids loved them, though!

It came out superb! I did make some changes. First of all I used 4 chicken thighs and 6 chicken wings, as well as a 9x13 pan. I used olive oil instead of cooking spray; Sweet Baby Ray's Hickory & Brown sugar Sauce; Kinders BBQ Rub(instead of Asian spice); Brown Sugar (instead of caramel sauce). I baked it for 45 minutes, added extra sauce for another 10 for a total of 55 minutes. Our mouths were watering before AND after. I gave it 4 stars only because of the changes I made.

Needed a quick simple recipe for dinner and found this! I liked it. Made my own BBQ seasoning though and it was slightly spicy.
