Buttermilk Peppercorn Ranch Salad Dressing Recipe

Ingredients

This creamy dressing recipe is crafted for 12 servings. Adjustments to ingredient amounts are automatic if scaling, but preparation times remain the same. Keep in mind that flavor intensity may vary with scaling.

  • 2/3 cup buttermilk
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 tablespoon ground peppercorns
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried chives
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried dill
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried parsley
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/8 teaspoon salt

Directions

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine the buttermilk, sour cream, and mayonnaise until smooth and creamy.
  2. Add the ground peppercorns, dried chives, dill, parsley, garlic powder, onion powder, and salt. Whisk thoroughly to incorporate all spices evenly.
  3. Cover the bowl and place it in the refrigerator. Allow the flavors to meld for at least 3 hours, though overnight is ideal for a richer taste.
  4. Before serving, stir the dressing gently and adjust seasoning if necessary. Serve chilled as a dip or salad dressing.

6.819 Made as written with the exception of using fresh chives. Found the flavor just a bit weak, so I did add more garlic powder and dill (personal taste). To really maximize flavor, do allow time for the dressing to sit in the fridge for the flavors to meld. I like the simplicity of this recipe and the fact that I always have all ingredients on hand. Enjoyed as a side salad to Zucchini Pizza Bake on this site. Will be making this one again.
