Cuban Sliders Recipe
Cook Time: 35 minutes
Ingredients
- 2 (12 count) packages Hawaiian bread rolls (such as King's Hawaiian)
- cup butter, melted
- 2 tablespoons Dijon mustard
- 1 tablespoon onion powder
- 1 tablespoon poppy seeds
- Worcestershire sauce to taste
- 1 pound cooked pulled pork without sauce
- 24 slices honey-cured deli ham
- 8 ounces sliced Swiss cheese, or more as needed
- 48 dill pickle chips, patted dry
Directions
- Gather all ingredients and prepare a 9x13-inch baking dish by greasing the bottom and sides, or use a disposable aluminum pan.
- Cut the Hawaiian rolls in half. Arrange the bottom halves of all 24 rolls in the prepared baking dish.
- In a bowl, whisk together melted butter, Dijon mustard, onion powder, poppy seeds, and Worcestershire sauce. Brush half of this mixture over the bottom halves of the rolls.
- Layer the pulled pork, ham, Swiss cheese, and 2 pickle chips on each bottom roll in the exact order.
- Cover with the top halves of the rolls. Brush the remaining butter mixture over the tops of the rolls.
- Cover the dish with aluminum foil and refrigerate for 20 to 30 minutes.
- Preheat the oven to 350F (175C).
- Bake the rolls, covered, in the preheated oven for 20 minutes.
- After 20 minutes, remove the foil and press down on the sliders with a spatula to flatten them slightly. Continue baking for an additional 15 minutes or until the sliders are heated through and the tops are crispy.
Cook's Note
Carnitas can be used as an alternative to pulled pork in this recipe for a different flavor.
