Air Fryer Pumpkin Seeds Recipe

Air Fryer Pumpkin Seeds Recipe

Cook Time: 35 minutes

Ingredients

  • 1 cups pumpkin seeds
  • 2 teaspoons avocado oil
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1 teaspoon salt

Directions

Step 1: Rinse the pumpkin seeds thoroughly in a colander to remove any debris.

Step 2: Lay two paper towels on a plate. Spread the pumpkin seeds on top and cover with two more paper towels. Gently press to remove most of the water, then let the seeds sit at room temperature for at least 15 minutes to dry completely.

Step 3: Preheat your air fryer to 350F (180C).

Step 4: Once the seeds are dry, transfer them to a medium-sized bowl. Add the avocado oil, smoked paprika, and salt. Toss the seeds until they are evenly coated with the seasoning mix.

Step 5: Place the seasoned pumpkin seeds in the air fryer basket in a single layer. This ensures even cooking and crispiness.

Step 6: Cook the seeds in the preheated air fryer for 15 to 35 minutes, shaking the basket frequently to ensure even cooking. The seeds should be golden brown and crispy when done.

Cook's Notes

  • Air fryer models may vary. It's best to check on the seeds frequently during the last 5 minutes of cooking.
  • If you dont have avocado oil, you can substitute with olive oil, canola oil, or melted coconut oil.
  • For a spicier kick, feel free to add chili powder, or try curry powder for a warm, aromatic flavor.

I skipped step 1 & 2 , I don't think it was necessary. I did find the pumpkin seeds a bit on the salty side. Next time I will cut the salt back to 1/2 tsp. I had to line my air fryer basket with parchment paper to prevent the seeds from falling out. Other than that, it was quick and easy.

I did mine for 20 min, not dried, with cinnamon, brown sugar, and salt. 35 min is too long

I used seeds from acorn squash, had less than 1/2 cup. I really didn't measure anything, just sprinkled salt and smoked paprika, I also had olive oil on hand. I had them in the air fryer for about 10 minutes, with frequent shaking, because they did darken up very quickly. I added a little bit more salt to taste in the end, very good!

I didn't have avocado oil so I used olive oil.

These were the easiest pumpkin seeds I’ve ever made. I used Olive Oil since that’s what I had on hand but it worked out fine. Very delicious and will definitely make them again.

Ingredients are good. I did this recipie & added 5 min in the air fryer at 300° F for extra crispy and browned look. Excellent.

No way I could wait until they’re cold. They’re so delicious easy recipe in my fryer. I only cook them 20 minutes and they were brown almost going to burn. I didn’t use as much salt and I prefer it that way, but this is a really great

My family loved these! I used peanut oil because that is what I had on hand. I did add in some garlic powder and a pinch of cayenne pepper as other reviewers suggested.

I love pumpkin seeds, and have never thought of preparing them in the air fryer! I dried them overnight and they came out beautifully! I’ll season them with other seasonings, but this is a fabulous method to make sure they are good and toasty.
