French Onion Soup in a Slow Cooker
Ingredients
- cup butter
- 4 large onions, thinly sliced
- 4 cups beef broth
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- Salt and ground black pepper, to taste
Directions
Step 1: Melt butter in a skillet over medium heat.
Step 2: Add the sliced onions to the skillet and cook, stirring occasionally, until the onions are softened and browned, about 10 to 15 minutes.
Step 3: Transfer the cooked onions to a slow cooker.
Step 4: In the slow cooker, add the beef broth, minced garlic, salt, and black pepper.
Step 5: Set the slow cooker to cook on High for 4 hours or on Low for 8 hours, until the soup is hot and the flavors are fully combined.
