This delicious grilled chicken recipe combines the sweetness of apple jelly, the warmth of cinnamon, and the tanginess of Dijon mustard. A perfect choice for a quick and flavorful meal!
Ingredients
- cup apple jelly
- 1 tablespoon honey
- 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
- teaspoon ground cinnamon
- teaspoon salt
- 4 skinless, boneless chicken breast halves
Directions
- Preheat your outdoor grill to medium-high heat. Lightly oil the grate to prevent sticking.
- In a bowl, mix together the apple jelly, honey, Dijon mustard, ground cinnamon, and salt until well combined.
- Brush the chicken breasts generously with the glaze mixture on both sides.
- Place the glazed chicken breasts on the preheated grill. Cook for about 10 minutes per side, occasionally brushing with more glaze, until the chicken is fully cooked and no longer pink in the center.
- Check the internal temperature of the chicken using an instant-read thermometer. It should read at least 165F (74C) to ensure it is safe to eat.
- Once cooked, remove the chicken from the grill and let it rest for a few minutes before serving.

We don't own a barbecue, but couldn't resist trying this recipe. I cooked the chicken in a 350-degree oven for an hour, covered it, and flipped it halfway through. The glaze wasn't too sweet, and the flavor of dijon mustard came through beautifully, which was a pleasant surprise for me as I usually don't enjoy dijon mustard.

This recipe was a hit with everyone! I opted for apple jelly and microwaved the mixture for easier application on the grill. To enhance the flavor, I brined the chicken in a gallon solution of 1 cup brown sugar and 1/4 cup kosher salt for 24 hours before grilling. I started by grilling the chicken for 5 minutes on each side before applying the glaze to avoid burning. I set aside some glaze to use as a sauce before cooking, being careful not to use any that touched the raw chicken, of course.

I was intrigued by the recipe, but I wasn't keen on grilling in the winter. Instead, I opted to bake my chicken at 375F for 18 minutes (covered, rotating halfway), and it was a success! I doubled the glaze amount but maintained the ratios, and the flavor was fantastic. The jelly mixture did melt slightly, so I simply ladled it over the chicken before serving.

The meal was fantastic! I opted for Apple Butter instead of jelly, and it was absolutely amazing.

I couldn't locate any Apple Jelly, so I substituted with apple butter instead. I believe the result turned out decently. I rate this recipe 4 out of 5 stars.
