Ingredients
- 1 (16 ounce) can refried beans
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon ground cumin
- 1 (10 ounce) bag scoop-shaped tortilla chips
- 8 ounces Colby-Monterey Jack cheese, thinly sliced
- 1 (4 ounce) can sliced jalapeno peppers
Directions
Step 1: Preheat your oven to 350F (175C).
Step 2: In a bowl, combine the refried beans, garlic powder, onion powder, and cumin. Mix everything thoroughly until well blended.
Step 3: Lay the tortilla chips in a single layer on a baking sheet.
Step 4: Spoon the bean mixture evenly over the tortilla chips, ensuring each chip gets a generous portion.

Perfect base recipe. We change it up by adding ground beef or chopped chicken. Add some chopped onions, tomatoes, avocado and lettuce after heating. Yummiest !

You can't go wrong with beans, cheese, and jalapenos. I've been making these since I was a kid and I never get tired of them. Instead of waiting for an oven to preheat, just stick them under the broiler for a few minutes on low.
